Same shirt: Then... and Now

I received a letter from Casey the other day and asked if I could share it with all of you. If you don't know Casey, she's usually the quiet one in the back. (We love ya, Casey!) When she first started with us, she was very unsure about it all... and nothing came easy. She got frustrated often, but one thing about Casey is that she NEVER gave up. She showed up, worked hard, changed her eating, and now... Well, the picture and her letter says it all. We are SO proud of you Casey!

PS: You say "Thank You" every time you step foot in the box! :)

Here it is in Casey's words:
To Diana, Shaw, and all of my CrossFit family:
When I began, all I wanted was to be better. I had no idea what to expect, or what goals to chase. Looking at these pictures now, I am completely shocked, because I had no idea this much change was even possible, or that important. I had lived with my "slight chunkiness" my entire life, so as far as I was concerned, it was just another part of me. It was just who I was.

The last year has gone by so fast, and although I was aware that I was losing some weight, I did not realize how huge of a change I was going through. I remember a time when, for a long time, I stayed uncomfortably close to 190lbs... today, I weigh 160.

When I began, I did not really possess any goals, because I did not believe in myself enough to imagine that I could reach them. But, I now see that I have reached many important goals. Losing thirty pounds, dropping a pants size, and learning to eat Paleo are just a few of the things I have overcome. I have an eagerness for life that I never had before, and I now know the difference between "can't" and "won't". There are plenty of things I won't do... but there is NOTHING i can't do. I have a completely new part of me that was always there, just waiting to come out. I am passionate about my health, and finding joy in living an active life. Now I am truly living better.

There are no words that are strong enough or descriptive enough to express all of my gratitude. From the bottom of my heart, I want to say "Thank You" the best way I know how.
