Here are 6 great reasons to practice push-ups:
1. Muscles: Push-ups help you build muscles. And muscles burn fat. And burning fat is good. (And, muscles look sexy!)
2. Lots of muscles: Instead of working one muscle at a time, push-ups work LOTS of muscles. And, working lots of muscles at once is good.
3. Free: Push-ups are intense and you can do them for FREE!
4. Impress your friends: And, I'm not talking just about guys here... we all know how impressive it is when ANYONE can pump out a set of 20-30!
5. Self-Esteem: The more push-ups you do, the better you will feel about yourself!
6. 60-Day Push-up Challenge: Hmmmm... what is this?? Well, keep reading and find out!
Graham CrossFit 60-Day Push-Up Challenge!
When: Nov 15-Jan 14
What: Push-Up Challenge.
How: Sign-up on the Event board by Friday, November 12. It’s FREE!
Here are the Rules.
- You choose one way to do your push-ups. For example, if you are working toward push-ups on your toes, then choose toe push-ups. Already have a solid push-up? Try it with a vest, or a plate, or elevate your feet. There are lots of ways to go outside the comfort zone of the push-up! But, you must do the same push-up for the entire challenge! (Otherwise it wouldn't be a challenge, would it?)
- Then, on Nov 15 you do one push-up. On Nov 16 you do 2 push-ups. On Nov 17 you do 3 push-ups. On Nov 18 you do 4 push-ups, etc. You follow this pattern for 60 CONSECUTIVE DAYS! Yes, push-ups each day, including weekends, for 60 days! Imagine how good you’ll feel when you complete all 60 push-ups on Jan 14th AND how much your push-ups will improve!
- This challenge is “on your honor system” and you can complete it at home, at the box as part of your pre-WOD warm-up, at work, or anywhere you want to show off your skills!
- Keep track of your push-ups in your Success Journal and enjoy getting stronger and more proficient at this skill!
So, sign up on the board and let's push-up our way into the holidays!
