With today's busy life, it is very easy to allow yourself to become overwhelmed when trying to plan your meals. However, you only have one body to get you through the rest of your life so we want you to take care of it. Staying prepared when it comes to healthy eating is key to your success.
Here are a few tips to make food prep a bit easier:
1. Keep a running grocery list on your refrigerator. When you notice you are low on eggs or berries, write it down immediately. This way when you are running out the door to the grocery store, your list is ready for you.
2. As soon as you get home from the store, wash, chop and separate your veggies into their own Tupperware or baggie. You can chop and your kids can help put them in the containers. Then when you are hungry, there are less steps to completing a healthy meal.
3. When you cook meat, cook a lot of it! Separate the leftovers into your meal size and put in Tupperware.
4. Every evening put together an entire meal; protein, veggies, and nuts. Put it in a lunch sack. If you are in a rush the next morning, you have a go-to meal made you can eat in the car on the way to school or work.
A crock pot, Tupperware and a food processor are a great investment in making healthy meals easy. Wal-mart carries both for a reasonable rate. (No, I have never worked for Wal-mart, but I am a bargain shopper).
Over time, these steps will become habit and a normal part of your life.
